Neighbourhood Watch clamps down on metal thieves

Metal_theft_newsletter_(long_version)

Neighbourhood Watch and Home Watch across England and Wales are joining forces with police and various telecoms, transport and utility companies to clamps down on thieves, who target metal as their way of making money at the cost of millions of pounds.

Neighbourhood and Home Watch members are a vital link in the fight against metal thieves. By utilising the estimated 7.9m strong membership to report suspicious vehicles or evidence of metal theft to the police or Crimestoppers, the potential for the thieves being caught with the stolen goods is increased.

A special edition newsletter, supported by British Telecom is being circulated by the Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network (England and Wales) to members, partners and MPs to reinforce the message of the importance of being extra vigilant and highlighting what they should be looking for.
