Adur community grants

Applications for Adur council’s community grants scheme are now being accepted.

Grant applications will be considered for services that assist in any one or more of five priority areas; promoting health & wellbeing in the local community, promoting community involvement and volunteering opportunities, targeting inequalities and deprivation, increasing partnership working between organisations and promoting the regeneration of the district.

David Simmons, cabinet member for health and well-being said: “Despite the difficult financial climate, Adur council is continuing to support community action through our grants budget, which is now even more important to local groups, to help them in continuing to deliver key services to our community.”

Grants are for up to £5,000, and any local groups and organisations working with local people in the Adur district are eligible to apply.  Preference will be given to applications which provide strong evidence of need, demonstrate strong local community support and leadership, demonstrate good value for money, are sustainable in the long term and have not received Pot of Gold funding in the current year.

The closing date for applications for funding is Friday 25th November 2011.  Applications will then be assessed and applicants will be notified by December 23rd 2011.
