Liberal Democrats launch cutting edge new website

The Liberal Democrats have today launched a cutting edge new website (www.libdems.org.uk), supported by NationBuilder – the world’s leading voter engagement tool – putting them at the forefront of digital campaigning in the UK.

With predictions that 2015 will be the UK’s first data election, the Liberal Democrats are set to lead the way in a new era of political campaigning.

The launch of the website will build on the success of the Liberal Democrats’ #whyiamIN campaign, where supporters and followers of the party are able to easily share content and links promoting the benefits of remaining in the EU.

Commenting, Leader of the Liberal Democrats and Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg said:

“Political campaigning has changed dramatically in recent years and there is no doubt that the next General Election will be the UK’s first ‘data election’.

“That’s why the Liberal Democrats have learned from successful campaigns around the world, like Obama’s in America, and invested in the best state-of-the-art systems.

“The new NationBuilder website will revolutionise the way we can interact with our voters and supporters.”

Notes:

The party already use the sophisticated voter contact tool Connect and the introduction of NationBuilder, previously used by the party to run their successful by-election campaign in Eastleigh last year, will put the Liberal Democrats ahead of the other parties in digital campaigning.

In one online space, that combines publishing, campaigning and communication, the Liberal Democrats will be able to organise events, manage donations, recruit volunteers, send out newsletters and communicate with supporters through an integrated system of social media, blogs and email.
