New self-service machines for Shoreham Library

Self-service terminals are being installed at Chichester Library

Shoreham Library will shut for three weeks from 5:30pm on Friday April 13 as it prepares for new self-service terminals.

Readers will still be able to borrow up to 20 books or DVDs before the temporary closure or use other nearby branches – including Lancing, Southwick and Worthing.

It will reopen with the state-of-the-art machines at 10am on Tuesday May 8.

West Sussex County Council Deputy Leader, Lionel Barnard, who oversees the Library Service, said: “These machines are an easy and efficient method for loaning items and can be used by everyone.

“You will be able to print a list of what you have borrowed, check when an item is due for return, and even make any cash payments. Our staff will be close-by in case anyone needs help.”

Meanwhile Storrington Library is set to reopen on Wednesday April 11 after having the new terminals installed.

Users will be able to visit the branch from 9:30am.
