Top tips for coping with winter weather
West Sussex County Council is reminding people of some simple steps they can take to prepare and cope with cold winter weather conditions.
Temperatures dropped over the weekend after an unseasonably mild period of weather.
Pete Bradbury, West Sussex County Council Cabinet Member for Public Protection, said: “The weather has been relatively kind to us this winter compared to the snow and ice we have experienced in previous years, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t prepare for severe conditions.
“Simple things such as getting your car ready for winter weather or checking on elderly or vulnerable people in your community can make a big difference.”
Information on what steps people can take to prepare for cold weather can be found on the County Council website at www.westsussex.gov.uk/getreadyforwinter
The advice ranges from how to protect your home and helping your community to winter travel advice and health and wellbeing.
