Vision for Lancing – the largest village in England –

On Thursday 24th May the ‘Lancing Village Vision’ document will be formally launched at a public event to be held at Lancing parish hall at 7pm.

Earlier this year, Adur council in partnership with the Lancing parish council commissioned consultants BDP to prepare a vision for Lancing.  Following extensive public and stakeholder consultation, the document is now ready for people to see.

Jim Funnell, lead councillor for regeneration at Adur council said: “Now that we have the Vision for Lancing Village, we won’t waste any time in setting up a partnership between West Sussex, Adur District and Lancing Parish Councils to start things moving in Lancing.  We want to capitalise on the momentum that the Vision has created and start attracting investment into the Village.  We will involve as many community groups and stakeholders as we can in the decision-making process over which projects should be prioritised from the Action Plan which BDP has produced.”

Ann Bridges, chairman of Lancing parish council, added: “Lancing parish council have enjoyed working with Adur council and BDP. We are very happy with the final report – Lancing Vision – and hope to start instigating the changes as soon as possible. I know that the people of Lancing look forward to the future now.”
