Campaign for a safe crossing for Rectory Road

Local campaigners Hazel Thorpe and Iona Harte have teamed up with St. Lawrence surgery to engage with West Sussex County Council for safer road crossings along Rectory Road before someone is seriously hurt.

In the last six months there have been at least six reported accidents and with Thomas A Becket Junior School and other childcare providers in the local area a feels like it is just a matter of time before something catastrophic happens.

The community safety bid to West Sussex County Council Highways includes:

  • A time limited lay-by for two vehicles
  • Levelling off of the grass verged
  • A safe crossong point with tactile paving
  • Planters and a wildflower garden to offset our carbon footprint.

We need your help to make this happen. Please copy and use the text below to email your support to Hazel at hazel.thorpe@worthing.gov.uk
