Iona Harte - Castle Ward and Cissbury Division

Originally from Durrington I have since moved to Goring, I was educated locally at Worthing High and Worthing VI Form college. I went on to qualify in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Portsmouth University and have always worked in Worthing or the local area.

Having been a Worthing Borough Councillor previously I have the experience of chairing Committees and I understand how the council works. I am currently working at Worthing College in the Science department and I enjoy encouraging students to love practical science and I will bring this enthusiasm and commitment to serving the community.

I am currently secretary to Tarring Neighbourhood Watch having also held responsible positions with other Resident Associations and charities in Worthing. As a Treasurer and Friend of Tarring Park I take great pleasure in helping organise the events being held in the Park such as the Egg Hunt held at Easter and Picnic in the Park held in August. You can also find me with other Community Gardeners looking after green spaces in Worthing.

My claim to fame : In 2003 I was with Charles Kennedy protesting against the War in Iraq and Afghanistan and I have now met our esteemed leader Ed Davey.

My aim for the council : I am passionate about the environment and have campaigned and will continue to campaign on the sewage dumping along our coast.

Working hard
